He was raised in Havelock, NB. When he graduated High School, he couldn't wait to leave the Maritimes and flew to Saskatchewan to pursue a degree in Music at Briercrest College.
After finishing his degree, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served as an Aerospace Control Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. During this time, he met his wife, Heather. Spike and Heather have two sons (Drake and Bran) and two golden doodles (Digby and Tails).
In 2020, Spike released from the Forces and pursued a Masters of Divinity in Church History through Liberty University.
In 2022 he and his family moved back to New Brunswick and became members of Uplands Baptist Church. Little did he know that God would end up calling him to be the pastor of Uplands, and in October 2024, he took on the role of Senior Pastor.
Coming into ministry was a roundabout trip with lots of stops and turns, as well as dark valleys, but God has been faithful and saw him through them all.
In addition to serving as pastor, Spike also works as an assistant professor and Director of Student Life at Kingswood University in Sussex.
In his spare time, Spike enjoys spending time with his family, playing tabletop games (board games, RPGs, and miniatures games), works with leather, and is learning the cello.
